Make it stand out
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Quilting x Anti-raids workshop
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, learning and solidarity. Waltham Forest Anti-Raids network will give an introduction into their work and the need to resist immigration raids from 2-3:30pm, and then from 3:30-6pm we will bring out fabric and quilting supplies to make a Gleaners quilt. There will be snacks to buy on a ‘solidarity pricing’ basis!
Quilting has a rich and often radical history: from archiving family histories to being used in freedom struggles, quilting uses patchwork and needlework to bridge art and craft with storytelling. On Saturday, we will be drawing on this tradition to design and produce a quilt that represents our community, tell stories and map memories and migration routes.
Community Living Room
Drop by at The Gleaners for a pay-what-you-can delicious hot and plant-based meal, made out of surplus food (as far as possible). We are open every Thursday 11am - 3pm
